GENE TEST FOR CANCERMyriad Genetics has introduced a predictive test for hereditary colon cancer and uterine cancer. The test, Colaris, is used to assess a person's risk of developing colon cancer based on the presence of a mutation in either of two genes . The same mutation also substantially increases a woman's risk for endometrial cancer. Patients with positive Colaris test findings have 80 % lifetime risk of developing colon cancer; women who test positive have 40 % to 60 % risk of developing uterine cancer.--> return to menu / back ...
