BABY DIAGNOSED WITH BRAIN HEMATOMA WHILE STILL IN THE WOMBThe patient was 28 years old, 30 weeks pregnant when routine ultrasound showed "something not quite right." An MRI was ordered and the baby was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma, a clot between his skull and brain. The baby was delivered by Csection one week prematurely. Neurosurgeon Paul May, of Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, performed a life-saving craniotomy three days later.
