NEW TEST TO DETECT COLON CANCERCT COLOGRAPHY - With a keyboard and mouse one can travel by computer reconstructing the colon and searching for pre-cancerous growth. It is safer and less painful than current methods. CT colography will become a widely used screening tool, according to Dr. Daniel Johnson, MD, Professor of Radiology at the Mayo Medical School in Rochester. With adequate screening it is theoretically possible to eliminate colon cancer, he says.Colonoscopy is not exactly a comfortable procedure, but that may change in a few years with CT colography, the new technology being developed to detect the third leading cancer killer of women. --> return to menu / back ...
